Strain description Glb1-WB

Our laboratory has used knockout (KO) mice (BKO) of the Glb1 gene as a mouse model for GM1 gangliosidosis. However, BKO mice have some drawbacks, such as the expression of an unwanted gene (Neo resistance gene), so we generated new KO mice by deleting exon 6 in the B6N background by genome editing. The loss of the GLB1 protein was confirmed (see WB Fig.) and, this strain is expected to be used as a mouse model for GM1 gangliosidosis like BKO.
