Strain description

CD69 proteins are expressed as an cell-surface protein in activated lymphocytes and macropahges, as well as some other blood cells. The protein is thought to be involved in the autoimmune and allergic diseases.

This strain of mice has a floxed exon in Cd69 gene. The Cd69 gene can be silenced (knocked out) by the mating with Cre mice. The strain can be used as a research tool for functional studies of Cd69 in a wide variety of immune diseases.
