Strain description

A mouse strain in which the Cftr gene was knocked out by genome editing (CRISPR / Cas9). It was created by setting gRNAs at two exons 4 and 6 of the Cftr gene and deleting the middle part of the coding region. However, no frameshift has occurred since the deletion, and it is possible that mutant proteins are produced. The Cftr gene is the causative gene of cystic fibrosis and is suggested to be involved in pulmonary fibrosis. This strain is useful for studying these diseases.
