Strain description

Knockout mice for the Ct55 gene, produced by genome editing. The cancer testis antigen 55 (CT55) is expressed in different tumors and normal testes. CT55 is involved in colitis-associated cancer as a new potent promoter (Zhao et al., 2019). A deficiency of the cancer/testis antigen gene CT55 causes male infertility in humans and mice (Zhang et al., 2022). This strain is useful for the study of cancer and spermatogenesis.
