Strain description

Mice of the strain have mutations in C1 (a component of classical complement pathway) alleles, i.e., complete deletion of C1s1 and partial deletions of C1ra and C1rb (see figure below). The mice express C1ra-C1rb fusion proteins in the liver, but C1r proteins are undetectable in their peripheral blood. The mice can be used as C1r/C1s deficient mice with DBA/2J background.
