Strain description |
FAT-CDO mice are transgenic mice overexpressing specifically rat cysteine dioxygenase (CDO) in fat tissue. CDO, a rate-limiting enzyme of taurine synthesis, is expected to promote taurine synthesis in fat tissue. Transgene is designed including aP2 promoter. This strain overexpresses 2-3 times CDO in fat tissue compared with normal mice. This strain are available for research of metabolic syndolome or relationship between taurine and obesity. |
