Strain description

This strain is a knockout strain for the Fcgr1 gene, which encodes one of the subunits composing the receptor protein for the Fc site of the immunoglobulin molecule. Almost all the coding sequence of the Fcgr1 gene on chromosome 3 in C57BL/6N mice was removed with Cas9 proteins and two guide RNAs targeting the starting position of the coding sequence and 3’-UTR of the gene. Because the start codon of Fcgr1 remained in the KO allele, a small irregular peptide (18 AA-long) might be produced, mainly from the 3’-UTR. This strain is useful for the study of acquired immunity.
