Strain description | GLUT4-Mut582/C mice express transgene included exon and intron of mouse GLUT4 inserted CAT tag in the 3' untranslated region and 582 bp of 5'-upstream region introduced point mutation in part. This strain is available for analysis of GLUT4 promoter. This strain has three lines, A, B, or C. GLUT4, one of the glucose transporter which is rate-limiting step of importing sugars in muscle or fat tissue, plays an important role of blood sugar homeostasis. This strain is available for diabetes-related research because increasing/decreasing GLUT4 expression level is related to mechanism of onset or preventation of diabetes. |
