Strain description

GLUT4-Mut701 mice express transgene included exon and intron of mouse GLUT4 inserted CAT tag in the 3' untranslated region and 701 bp of 5'-upstream region introduced point mutation in part. This strain is available for analysis of GLUT4 promoter. GLUT4, one of the glucose transporter which is rate-limiting step of importing sugars in muscle or fat tissue, plays an important role of blood sugar homeostasis. This strain is available for diabetes-related research because increasing/decreasing GLUT4 expression level is related to mechanism of onset or preventation of diabetes.
