Strain description

Leukocyte cell-derived chemotaxin 2 (LECT2) is a cytokine found as neutrophil chemotactic factor and a 16 kDa protein specifically expressing in liver parenchymal cells. It's considered that LECT2 is related to various disease such as hepatic dysfunction or rheumatoid arthritis. LECT2-Tg mice express mouse LECT2 under the control of CAG promoter in whole body. This strain has two lines, 12 or 33, and each line has different gene background, BALB/cAJcl or C57BL/6JJcl. Therefore, 4 types of LECT2-Tg mice are available. Especially, line 33 is ten to hundred times LECT2 concentration in blood compared with wildtype. This strain is useful for the elucidation of in vivo function of LECT2.
