| Strain description |
Meg1 Tg/T27L mice are transgenic mice overexpressing mouse Meg1/Grb10 in whole body. Meg1/Grb10 is an imprinting gene to express from only maternal genome. CAG promoter is used for transgene expression. This strain shows poor growth after weaning and insulin resistance, then onset of diabetes. Furthermore, this strain increases diabetes incidence rate by high nutritional feed. This strain is type 2 diabetes model mice. These mice become polyuria with onset of diabetes, therefore it's necessary to change mouse bedding frequently. This strain has different 4 lines from expression level. |
