Strain description

The miErbB3 Tg mice are transgenic mice with in vivo knockdown of ErbB3 using a Schwann-cell-specific-promoter-driven production of ErbB3 specific shRNA. Knockdown of ErbB3 using a Schwann cell-specific promoter in mice causes delayed migration of Schwann cell precursors and also reduces myelin thickness in sciatic nerves. The strain is useful for research on the peripheral nerve development.
