Strain description |
11Prom-Cre mice specifically express Cre in chondrocytes after the late stage of proliferative chondrocytes. This strain is used for conditional transgenic mouse system (Cre/loxP system). Cre regulated by Col11a2 (Type XI collagen alpha 2 chain gene) promoter. This strain is used for elucidation of in vivo roles of Smad7 about chondrocyte differentiation by specifically expressing Smad7 in chondrocytes after the late stage of proliferative chondrocytes by mating with Col11a2-LacZflox-Smad7 mouse (nbio127). This strain expects to contribute to basic research for the therapy of motor system diseases in orthopedics. |
