Strain description

Bim, a.k.a. Bcl2l11 (BCL2-like 11 (apoptosis facilitator)), is one of BCL-2 family members and acts as an anti- or pro-apoptotic regulator. The strain is a conditional knockin mouse strain in which Bim expresses in tissues with Cre expression. The integrated transgene has a stop cassette surrounded by loxP between the CAG promoter and the Bim cDNA. The stop cassette is removed in the tissues where Cre is expressed, and the Bim becomes expressed. The strain is useful for BIM research.
