Strain description |
A mouse strain in which Hps4, one of the genes responsible for Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome (HPS), is knocked out by genome editing (CRISPR/Cas9). Guide RNAs were set at two locations (Exons 3 and 14) in the Hps4 gene, and most of the coding sequence was deleted by genome editing. Homozygous KO mice have a paler coat color than C57BL/6N wild-type mice (B6 mice, see photos). The strain is expected to be used as an HPS model. |
