Strain description

Mice of this strain lack MicroRNA-182 (miR-182) gene, which is expressed abundantly in the mammalian retina and is therefore thought to perform important roles for the retinal development and the function. The mice are morphologically normal, viable, and fertile. No significant transcriptional or phenotypic changes are observed in miR-182–depleted retinas.
