Strain description |
NOD mice, a type 1 diabetes spontaneous model mice, have CD72chaplotype. NOD.CD72bcongenic mice, which are NOD mice carrying CD72b, are established by backcrossing between NOD mouse and C57BL/6 mouse carrying CD72b. NOD.CD72bmice are remarkably enhanced insulitis or diabetes compared with NOD mouse. NOD mice are widely used for type 1 diabetes spontaneous model, however, the onset of diabetes in NOD mice is affected such as environment and frequency or grade of occurrence is never high. Therefore, NOD mice are often enhanced the symptom by drugs. On the other hand, NOD.CD72bmice are enhanced diabetes symptom without drug treatment, thus NOD.CD72bmice are good model of type 1 diabetes and it's useful for the research of diabetes and development of therapeutic drug. |
