Strain description

Chronic inflamation characterized by infiltration of IgG-producing plasma cell into colonic mucosa is a histological hallmark of ulcerative coliteis. This infiltration is influenced by CXCL12-CXCR4 axis. CXCL12 is a CXC chemokine, which is involved in the chemoattraction of T cells. The strain is a transgenic mouse line that overexpresses mouse CXCL12 (SDF-1α) specifically in gastrointestinal epithelial cells under the control of mouse villin promoter. This strain is useful for functional stuideis of CXCL12 in the gastrointestinal epithelial cells.
