Strain description

C3G is an activator of Rap1, which is a low molecular weight GTP binding protein to belong to Ras family playing an important role of signal transduction, and it's GDP-GTP exchange factor or guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF). C3G KO mice is embryonic lethal before embryonic day 7.5. The lethality is rescued by the expression of the human C3G transgene (hC3G Tg mice, nbio113), but it's incomplete. Consequently, C3G homozygous knockout mouse introduced human C3G transgene (C3G-/-/hu) is remarkably small. It's showed that C3G is essential for cell adhesion and flattening by the research of C3G transgene deleted cells produced by expressing Cre in embryonic fibroblast cells derived from C3G-/-/hu mouse. It's possible to supply C3G heterozygous knockout mice.
