Strain description

CK mice were established for research of GM1-gangliosidosis which is human neurological genetic disease. CG mouse is a transgenic mouse overexpressing human normal β-galactosidase (β-Gal) in whole body, which was developed to study GM1-gangliosidosis, a typical human neurological genetic disease. Transgenes are consisted of CAG promoter and human β-Gal cDNA. CG mice also express mouse endogenous β-Gal. CK mice were produced by introducing human normal β-Gal into β-Gal KO (BKO) mice. The CK mouse does not express mouse β-Gal but overexpresses human normal β-Gal. The mouse does not show neurologic symptoms or lipid accumulation.
