Strain description

Herp KO(B6J) mice are knockout mice of Herpud1 gene. These mice are born normally according to Mendelian inheritance. In these mice organs such as liver, the expression levels of ER associated degradation (ERAD) related proteins were affected under both normal and ER stress conditions. These mice also show decreasing the level of ERAD substrate degradation in liver, the disorder of glucose tolerance and the reduction of resistance for cerebral ischemia. This strain are expected as useful model to elucidate the relationship between ERAD and stress or pathologic conditions. Herpud1 is a endoplasmic reticulum membrane protein induced the its expression by ER stress. This strain is C57BL/6JJcl(Nnt+/+) gene background. We also supply Herp KO(B6N) mice (nbio242) which are C57BL/6NCrSlc gene background.
