Strain description

The ShDock6 Tg mice are knockdown mice for Dock6 gene, harboring a transgene encoding short-hairpin (sh) RNA to produce small interfering RNA for Dock6. Dock6 is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) that activates the Rho family guanosine triphosphatases Rac1 and Cdc42 to regulate the actin cytoskeleton. Study using the mice showed that the Dock6 is involved in the control of axon growth and regeneration of sensory neurons. The ShDock6 Tg mice are normally fertile under standard breeding conditions. Two lines (ShDock6 Tg #1 and ShDock6 Tg #2) are available.
